SOIL GROUTING

RODIO

The injection of natural or artificial products through the pores of the soil permits the improvement of mechanical (strength, deformability) and hydraulic (permeability) features of a natural soil.

Soil grouting happens through small drillings who are equipped with special sleeved pipes (tubes a manchettes) made of PVC or steel.

Double inflatable packers are used for this operation.

Cement based grouts can be used in coarse soil (gravels to coarse sands) whereas the treatment of low permeability soils (fine sands, silts) require the use of finer suspensions (like ultra fine cement) or low viscosity solutions (gel, resins).

The grout moves through the pores of the soil and backfill the voids or displaces and substitutes the pore water.

Depending on the art and parameter of the injection process, different results can be achieved in terms of:

• Strengthening
• Waterproofing
• Consolidation
